This is the quiz page, throughout the whole experience, as users go through the experience and learn about the different cultures, they will be able to do quizzes and earn points and redeem rewards. There will be QR codes for users to scan using the camera icon.
After selecting their option, upon each correct answer, they will be shown a green overlay against their option to indicate that they are correct. A wrong answer would be reflected as red.
This is an example of one of the rewards users may redeem after earning points through the completion of quizzes, users will receive a notification on the amount of points that they have accumulated. We have decided to use vouchers circulating around the Singapore Rediscover vouchers and food discounts from various ethnic restaurants.
They will be able to browse through the rewards in the Profile Page. Upon clicking on the reward that they would like to redeem, they would be brought the reward details page where they will be able to read up the terms and conditions of the reward. If users were to click on ‘Redeemed Rewards’ and click on the reward they have redeemed, they will see the reward information page but the ‘redeem’ button would have changed to ‘redeemed’ and it will not be clickable
At our thoughts projection wall in the museum, users that wish to input their thoughts can scan a QR code which will lead them to a page where they can type out their thoughts and watch it project onto the wall in the museum
This is the overview of the museum space and floorplan. It showcases all the areas in the museum.
These are the exhibition walls, it showcases the 4 main races in Singapore which are Chinese, Malay, Indian and Eurasian. It shares about each of the races unique cultural points, practices and food etc.
This is the thought projection wall that works alongside the interactive app, where users can type in their thoughts and it will be projected onto the wall. There are bleacher sitting so that visitors can sit and read through the thoughts that are being projected onto the screen around them.
This is the discussion podium where visitors can book a session to join a discussion about certain topics that are decided for the day, It had two way mirror glass to create an open discussion feel in the room and has a large circular bench so that visitors can sit in and listen to the discussions or also partake in them.
These are some other key areas of the space like booths and areas of visitors to rest. There are booths where visitors can try food, games etc. of the 4 main races here in Singapore so that they can immerse themselves in the different cultures.
In the space there is also a stage and a costume room. The stage is for performances or seminars to be held, every month there is a festival or celebration for each ethnicity so we can have a performance held within the month of occasion for example, during Chinese New Year have Chinese dance or Lion dance and during Deepavali we can have Indian dancers perform to allow visitors to immerse and have special activities to immerse in. The costume room is where visitors can try on other ethnic costumes and take pictures with them.
PROJECT INFO:
Our group worked on this Hybrid Experience Design proposal where we could educate and raise awareness about the main races living in Singapore via an interactive museum titled – The Racial Blocks. Our project’s intention was to promote a racially harmonious Singapore by educating and raising awareness on the racial discriminations that different races face. Through education and interactive activities in this proposed space, we hope to encourage more people to feel safe and comfortable to create and partake in respectful conversations about racial differences.
