Our team has created 3 different Instagram AR filters to help engage children and their parents both pre and post show. Our decision was made because we researched that AR can help develop children's analytical, social interactions and motor skills. By having our AR filters on Instagram, they are more shareable, and it helps to promote SRT's Gretel and Hansel show to other parents as well. The filters can bring them to SRT's instagram page where there are other promotional posts and website to link the audience to.
The AR filters are as followed - Adventures of Gretel, Adventure of Hansel, and Gretel and Hansel Pop Quiz. Both Adventures of Gretel and Hansel follow a similar concept - collecting points via tilting of head and blinking, avoiding obstacles to reach a high score. This leaves choices between the two characters, and provides fun and engagement.
As for the Pop Quiz, it is a post-show engagement where the audience can test their knowledge after watching the show. Each recording of the filter comes with a randomised quiz and the audience are given two guesses in which after 5 seconds, the answer will be revealed.
