Ocean’s Life (Industry Partner: MeshMinds)
Ocean's Life AR is a serious AR game designed for MeshMinds to help educate and support behavioral changes of youths in line with the SEA Circular's project results framework, such as avoiding single-use plastic products, hard to recycle plastics, paper wastes, and metal, to promote better waste management including, sorting, collection, and recycling.
Ultimately, this project will let players be aware of the behavioral change required from every individual in the East Asia region to secure clean seas for all future generations, and encourage the players to make a pledge on social media and tag their friends to create a ‘ripple effect’ that lets everyone know what needs to be done to beat pollution.- Using the AR filter, users can move and change the bins with their head to collect the correct type of rubbish in the correct bin before it falls into the water below, allowing them to know how to correctly sort trash.
The starting screen of the game will also be used as a gameplay tutorial.

PROJECT INFO:
Ocean's Life is an augmented reality game created with Spark AR Studio to educate players on the impact of ocean waste pollution and how to prevent it. The game aims to show how the ocean would be when free from pollution thus encouraging a pro-recycling mindset. Working with MeshMinds, a creative technology studio partnered with the United Nations Environment Programme, we sought to engage youths and communities online to use frontier technologies to drive environmental pledges.
