Hyco – Solution for DesignSingapore Council
Hyco is the combination of hybrid and connect as the hy in hyco stands for hybrid and the co stands for connect. To sum it up, Hyco is a web-based app and mobile application that allows the design industry to connect with one another through hybrid means.
Its features include, events, communities, design challenges, job boards and leveraging off Behance for the uploading of works & Final Year projects
Hyco allows individuals to attend monthly design events whereby design challenge works would be showcased, giving recognition to those who had participated. These monthly design events organized by organizations themselves can be held both physically and virtually making it a hybrid. This mainly exposes individuals to networking and job opportunities.
Hyco allows individuals to casually communicate with those in the design industry through forums. These communities are created by organizations. Some ways that the organizations can increase community engagement is to pin their posts within the forum to inform the members in their community of events that they created using our organizing events feature.
This feature also ties together the virtual and physical aspect of networking and allows individuals to do so in a casual setting.
Hyco allows individuals to take up design challenges to build up their portfolio. These design challenges can only be created by organizations to ensure the credibility of what is being put up.
Through this, industrial practitioners and organizations may find potential individuals to hire and find solutions they may like which increases the hiring opportunities for both industry practitioners and design students and graduates.
Hyco allows individuals to conveniently find design specific jobs. It offers a range of different design jobs which allows users to find jobs postings created by organisations easily, helping users to increase job and hiring opportunities.
Hyco’s Job Board provides organisations with a convenient avenue to find the right designer for the job. At the same time, our users of design students, graduates and industry practitioners are also able to find jobs and increase their hiring opportunities there.

PROJECT INFO:
Hyco is a hybrid solution developed by our team for the DesignSingapore Council to explore potential solutions to enhance the design ecosystem and foster more design opportunities. The aim of our work was to develop a pathway for aspiring or existing designers specializing in different disciplines, to find opportunities such as networking, project collaborations, and jobs in the design industry. Through this pathway, we also wanted to provide them with opportunities to foster multidisciplinary engagement, which ultimately promotes a closely related and accessible design pathway for those in the industry.
