Blast from The Past – Student-Initiated Project

Haiqal - He is our production coordinator & lighting engineer. Throughout our project, Haiqal made certain that we complete our assigned tasks from planning the stage layout, sourcing out our own industry partners, equipment loaning and scheduling. Ensuring that we are always on track with our schedule and project management. Haiqal is also in-charge of the Lighting Design which showcases and highlights each of the band's identities.
Here is Danial, at his favourite place - Danial is our director, video editor and mixing engineer. He upholds the utmost standard in the quality of our final product, in both video & sound; ensuring a great viewing and listening pleasure for our audiences.
This is Kristan, our recording engineer - Throughout our recording, he is in-charge of the setting up of our equipment, backline, patching and ensures that everything is in the right order, in the technical aspect of our recording.
Damien Ng - Our monitor engineer. He is in-charge of setting up and mixing the monitors and IEMs for the musician. One of the more proficient in the use of the mixing console - He ensures that the artists can perform in ideal sonic conditions throughout our recording.

Special thanks to one of our industry partners, Fatfreq, for providing us with high-end in-ear monitors for our artists/performers.

PROJECT INFO:

The intention of our team’s project is to rekindle the feelings of musical performances before the pandemic with the help of Blackmagic Design and FatFreq. We then came up with Blast from the past, a live broadcast event showcasing various genres of music that was popular in Singapore. The process of the project consisted of the team recording the various bands, editing the recordings in post-production and then, streaming the final works on YouTube.
