Beat Plastic Pollution (Industry Partner: MeshMinds and SEA circular)
- Our team created an infographic-style animation that speaks about the impact of plastic pollution on our oceans and ways to reduce it. By using animation as a medium, it engages our audience more effectively. Our goal is to increase awareness amongst youths to be more mindful about their plastic usage.
Our team decided to create a reusable water bottle as we realise that many youths buy bottled drinks which increases the demand for plastic bottles production.
This is a simple mask cover mockup that our team created for this campaign. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, people need to wear masks to protect themselves from the virus. Most people lean towards disposable masks as it is more convenient and hygienic. This causes an increase in plastic pollution in our oceans. To combat this issue, we created a mask cover that would encourage people to use cloth masks instead of disposable ones.
Since we have a project that speaks about plastic pollution, we thought it would help highlight the impact masks bring.
Our team created an Instagram trivia filter that our audience can try and quiz their knowledge on plastic pollution. The aim of this filter is to educate people on the topic of plastic pollution in a fun and engaging way as well as to raise awareness about the #beatplasticpollution campaign.
Our team shot a 360 video with different touchpoints so that people can learn about the impacts of plastic pollution as well as the ways we can reduce it. A 360 video in a home setting also helps it feel more personal to the viewer.
Since most of our target audience uses Telegram, our team decided to use our mascots and create Telegram stickers which also aids in raising awareness about the campaign.

PROJECT INFO:
Our team collaborated with MeshMinds to produce interactive tools for their client, SEA circular. Our campaign aim was to create awareness and educate youths on plastic pollution via various transmedia content. We produced an animated infographic video targeted for youths to inform them about the serious effects of pollution, and an interactive 360 video to share different upcycling methods which they could incorporate into their daily lives.
